As a passionate Midwestern graphic designer, visual artist, and former restaurant owner, I bring over two decades of diverse creative experience to the table. My professional journey began in high school with a love for Adobe programs and flourished in college as I embarked on my career as a graphic designer at a phone book company.

Based in DeKalb, I have had the pleasure of providing professional design services to the Northern Illinois University community and DeKalb County for many years. Throughout my career, I have embraced a variety of creative mediums, including photography, painting, watercolors, collage, linocut, and embroidery. My passion for creativity and continuous learning drives my work, allowing me to adapt and innovate across different artistic disciplines.

One of my notable career milestones was owning Pita Pete's restaurant in DeKalb, Illinois, for 16 years. As the Art Director at Pita Pete's, I managed all aspects of design, branding, marketing, and social media. This role honed my expertise in visual communication and marketing design, enabling me to create compelling and cohesive brand experiences. I also learned the importance of website optimization by incorporating keywords and SEO into websites, ensuring they reached their target audiences effectively. During this time, I continued to take on freelance graphic design projects, offering custom graphics and design consultations to a diverse range of clients.

Since closing the restaurant in 2020, I have furthered my design career as a graphic designer for West Valley Graphics in St. Charles, Illinois, production artist making t-shirt transfers in Elgin, Illinois, and as a contract graphic designer with OC Creative in DeKalb, Illinois. These experiences have broadened my skill set and deepened my understanding of the design industry.
